Joseph’s musical background encompasses 20-years of playing saxophone, including studying classical saxophone with Joe Lulloff and jazz saxophone with Diego Rivera at Michigan State University. As an avid composer and bandleader, Joseph performs his original music with his sextet, 17-piece big band, and 13-piece chamber ensemble, in addition to performing solo woodwind shows.
Joseph is one of the most in-demand musicians, often found working with the top jazz ensembles in the city in both live and studio work. As a copyist and producer, Joseph has worked with such musicians as Mike Garson (pianist for David Bowie), David Cook (music director for Taylor Swift), and Migiwa Miyajima (producer for the Village Vanguard Orchestra) as well as some of NYC’s best musicians, including Alan Ferber, Mike Holober, and Darcy James Argue. As a saxophonist, he’s performed at venues such as Dizzy’s Jazz Club, Lincoln Center Summer for the City, and the Detroit Jazz Festival.
Joseph believes in understanding each student’s goals and dreams, then creating a holistic approach bringing together hi musical knowledge with hi belief in balance to allow the student’s musical journey to be fruitful, joyful, and beneficial to their life.
