Ledah Finck is a violinist, violist, and composer based in Brooklyn. She is a sought-after interpreter and creator of contemporary classical music, particularly with her string quartet Bergamot Quartet, and is well-versed in jazz and folk music in addition to rigorous classical training. She is currently working on her third album of original songs. Making creative music with old and new friends is her favorite thing to do.

Ledah has taught privately and in group settings over the past decade, and was director of strings classes at the Waldorf School of Baltimore for 3 years. With Bergamot Quartet, she regularly works with composition and strings students of all ages.

Ledah’s teaching style is rooted in compassion and creativity. Her own relationship to music blossomed when she began to discover that violin playing could be about infinitely more than following a rigid technical curriculum, and her teaching centers finding each student’s unique voice and inspiration. As a composition teacher, she is invested in helping each composer, whether seasoned or new to writing, interrogate the narratives they want to explore through music and realize them in ways satisfying to both create and perform.
